The total number of coronavirus cases in Mohali has increased to 84 after the district reported 11 new positive cases. According to the information, 10 of them have returned from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra while one is a PGI employee from Mullanpur.
Likewise, Tarn Taran reported 7 new cases of coronavirus. All of them have returned from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra. In Tarn Taran, the district tally has increased to 15.
In Mohali, 30 patients have been cured and discharged. Of 84, 52 are the active cases while 2 patients are dead. On Wednesday evening night, there Nanded pilgrims from Kahnuwan in Gurdaspur, who returned from Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra, have tested positive for coronavirus.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced the easing of few restrictions in curfew/lockdown from Thursday in areas not marked as Red/Containment Zones, subject to strict adherence to coronavirus safety protocols. Meanwhile, certain shops will be opened by rotation from 7 to 11 AM.
Afterward, Mohali DC Girish Dayalan had said that the Government of Punjab has allowed certain relaxations for industry/ construction and opening of shops in a staggered rotational manner. He added that the details of implementation are being worked out, formal orders shall be issued on Thursday after consultation with stakeholders.
