Barnala reports its first case of coronavirus; total number of cases in Punjab 68

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 68 after a fresh case was reported from Barnala on Sunday. According to the information, a 42-year-old woman, a resident of Barnala tested positive for coronavirus. Earlier in the day, a 26-year-old, a resident of Rajgarh in Payal in Ludhiana, tested positive for coronavirus. Earlier on Saturday, the Civil Surgeon Manjeet Singh stated that three new cases have been reported from Mohali. An 80-year-old female and a 55-year-old female, residents of Sector 91, Mohali, tested positive for the pandemic. As per the report, both of them were the contacts of a 69-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID 19 in Ludhiana. Pathankot reported its first case after a 75-year-old female was tested positive for the novel virus. Likewise, three cases were reported from Amritsar while one each was reported from Jalandhar, Faridkot and Pathankot, on Saturday. On Friday, three people, one man and two women, tested positive for coronavirus in Mansa. Reportedly, they had attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi. Like Punjab, Haryana govt should consider of buying crops in every village says Deepender Likewise, two have been reported from Mohali, who attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin too. Meanwhile, 3 people, who came in contact with Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa, who died due to coronavirus, tested positive in Amritsar.

Likewise, Ropar reported its first positive case from a village in Morinda. After Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa passed away, the Punjab Government released a list of 31 people who came in touch with him. Likewise, a 69-year-old female was tested positive in Shimlapuri in Ludhiana earlier this week. Likewise, the Shimlapuri area was sealed in an order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. -PTC News
