Ferozepur reports first death due to COVID-19; confirmed cases in Punjab cross 1000

Ferozepur has reported its first death due to coronavirus after a 40-year-old COVID-19 patient identified as Ashok Kumar, of Ali Ke village passed away on Sunday. He was under treatment at Medical College, Faridkot. The DC Ferozepur said that he was not feeling well and admitted to the hospital at Faridkot. With this, the death toll in the state has increased to 21. As per the medical protocol on coronavirus, the further action is being taken by the district administration at the village Ali Ke. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has crossed 1000 after Muktsar, Bathinda, Mohali, Nawanshahr, Ferozepur, Ropar and Ludhiana reported fresh cases of coronavirus. According to the information, the Punjab tally has reached 1137 with 57 new cases from Nawanshahr, 42 from Muktsar and 33 from Bathinda. Ludhiana reported 23 fresh cases of COVID-19 while Ropar reported 9 new cases and Mohali reported a fresh case. https://www.facebook.com/ptcnewsonline/videos/533325254222249/?t=1 Bathinda has become a hotspot and has been designated as a red zone. This has led to panic amongst the residents who have been raising questions on the poor management of the state government in bringing back the pilgrims from Sri Nanded Sahib. Among the new cases, most of them are the pilgrims who have returned from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra.
