Man dies of coronavirus in Jalandhar; Punjab death toll 27

The death toll in Punjab has increased to 27 after a 29-year-old man from Qazi Mohalla in Jalandhar died at Chandigarh's Post Graduate Institue of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he was admitted. With this, the death toll in the district has increased to five. Punjab on Wednesday reported 2 new coronavirus deaths. Patiala reported another death due to coronavirus after a 39-year-old man passed away due to COVID-19 on Wednesday. He was taken to Government Mata Kaushalya hospital in the morning, where he was declared brought dead. Also in Jalandhar, a 59-year-old man who was employed at the Guru Nanak Mission Hospital tested positive for coronavirus. Moga has reported 17 new cases, taking the district's case tally to 45. As many as two residents of the Moga district were admitted to hospitals outside the district. One positive for COVID19 reported today from jamanabad area of kangra Most of the patients were the pilgrims who recently returned from a pilgrimage to Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra's Nanded and their family members. Around 1,400 samples had been taken in the district for testing. The authorities said that they were still waiting for the results of 700 people and were conducting random testing.
