Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 9442; death toll 239; recovered 6373
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 9,442 after 348 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Friday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 239 after 9 new deaths were reported from the state. Ludhiana and Patiala reported 2 new deaths each while one new death was reported each from Ferozepur, SBS Nagar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Amritsar.
According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Ludhiana reported 62 new cases of coronavirus while 78 new cases were reported from Jalandhar. Patiala reported 56 new cases while Amritsar reported 34 new cases. Mohali reported 14 new cases and Hoshiarpur reported 34 cases.
Moga reported 15 new cases while 11 new cases were reported from Sangrur. Faridkot and Ropar reported 7 new cases each while 6 new cases were reported from Muktsar and Gurdaspur each.
Fazilka reported 4 new cases while Pathankot and Kapurthala reported 3 new cases each. Bathinda and Mansa reported 2 new cases each while one new case has been reported from Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur and Tarn Taran each.
A total of 96 patients were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 96, 47 were from Sangrur, 9 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 10 from Moga, 7 from Kapurthala, 6 each from Ferozepur and Bathinda each, 4 from Pathankot, 2 from Barnala and one Muktsar.

Currently, Jalandhar has 626 active cases while Amritsar has 192 and Sangrur 84. Patiala has 491 active cases while Mohali has 186, Gurdaspur 303, Pathankot 267, Tarn Taran 222, Hoshiarpur 264, SBS Nagar 100, Muktsar at 24, Fatehgarh Sahib 51, Moga 46, Ropar 44, Faridkot 61, Kapurthala 27, Ferozepur at 95, Bathinda 55, Fazilka 39, Barnala 79 active cases and Mansa 66.
