Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 5216; death toll 133; recovered 3526

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 5216 after 161 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Sunday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 133 after 1 new death was reported each from Amritsar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 12 new cases of coronavirus while 39 new cases were reported from Ludhiana. Sangrur reported 45 new cases while Jalandhar reported 19 new cases of coronavirus. Patiala reported 6 new cases while Mohali and Gurdaspur reported 8 new cases each. Pathankot and Fatehgarh Sahib reported 4 new cases each while Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur and Kapurthala reported 3 new cases each. Likewise, 2 new cases were reported from Faridkot while one new case was reported each from Tarn Taran and Fazilka. UPDATES ON COVID-19 | Recovered cases sharply overtake active cases A total of 206 patients were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 206, 49 were from Amritsar, 35 from Jalandhar, 57 from Sangrur, 10 from Pathankot, 8 from Mohali, 7 from Hoshiarpur, 6 from Patiala, 16 from Fazilka, 5 from Kapurthala, 4 each from Ropar and Bathinda, 2 each from Muktsar and Ropar while 1 SBS Nagar. UPDATES ON COVID-19 | Recovered cases sharply overtake active cases Currently, Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 883 cases of coronavirus followed by Ludhiana at 781, Jalandhar at 704, and Sangrur at 408. Patiala has reported 281 cases of coronavirus while Mohali has reported 250 cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Coronavirus tally of Tarn Taran has increased to 188 while the number of coronavirus cases in Hoshiarpur has spiked to 174. The coronavirus tally in SBS Nagar stands at 130, Muktsar at 127, Fatehgarh Sahib at 110, Faridkot at 103 and Ropar at 102 each. -PTC News
