With 1,746 new +ve cases, Punjab's COVID tally rises to 47,836

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 47,836 after 1,746 fresh cases were reported from the state on Thursday. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Thursday evening, the death toll in the state has increased to 1,256 after 37 new deaths were reported from the state. Among the new deaths, Amritsar reported 7 new fatalities, Barnala reported 1, Fazilka 1, Hoshiarpur 2, Kapurthala 1, Ludhiana 5, SAS Nagar 5, SBS Nagar 1, Pathankot 2, Patiala 4, Ropar 1, Sangrur 5, and Tarn Taran 2. The total number of recoveries in the state has increased to 30,972 after 741 COVID patients in Punjab were declared cured and recovered. Of 741 new recoveries, Jalandhar reported 153, Patiala 119, Amritsar 70, Sangrur-41, Bathinda 2, Gurdaspur 50, Moga 4, Hoshiarpur 29, Pathankot 35, Barnala 68, Fatehgarh Sahib 37, Kapurthala 4, Faridkot 4, Tarn Taran 2, Fazilka 41, SBS Nagar 14, Muktsar 45, and Mansa 23.
