Coronavirus cases in Punjab cross 300 after Patiala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr and Pathankot report new cases
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 309 after Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Pathankot and Rajpura reported fresh cases on Saturday. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Saturday evening, Rajpura has reported 6 new cases of coronavirus while Jalandhar reported 3 new cases. Nawanshahr and Pathankot have reported one new case each. Meanwhile, Jalandhar has now the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state followed by Mohali at 63 and Patiala at 61. Nawanshahr had no coronavirus cases left after 18 out of 19 patients were cured and discharged. Now, Nawanshahr has reported its 20th case of coronavirus, which is the only active case in the district. Pathankot and Nawanshahr have reported a new case while the cases of Pathankot and Jalandhar are the contacts of positive patients. The death toll in the state stands at 17.
