Rajasthan reports first death due to coronavirus, death toll in India rises to 5

Coronavirus Outbreak: India has reported its fifth death due to the coronavirus as an Italian citizen, who had recovered three days ago, passed away in Jaipur on Friday. With this, India has witnessed a rise in the number of confirmed cases to 206. In the meanwhile, the state government has imposed a near-virtual lockdown, banning public gatherings, stopping international flights from Sunday and closing offices and schools.

Punjab reports first Death

A man, who died due to heart attack on Wednesday at the Banga civil hospital, had been tested positive for coronavirus. In the meanwhile, the total number of positive cases in Punjab has climbed to 3 after a 69-year-old woman was tested positive for coronavirus (COVID 19).

Coronavirus in India

The total number of confirmed cases across India has jumped to around 200 while five deaths have been reported so far. One death each has been reported from Rajasthan, Punjab, Mumbai, Delhi, and Karnataka. Also Read | Mohali woman tests positive for coronavirus; total cases in Punjab 3 

Havoc of coronavirus

The World Health Organisation (WHO) earlier this month declared coronavirus as a global pandemic. In the meanwhile, over 10,048 deaths have been witnessed across the world while 245,987 cases have been reported so far. 88,465 patients have been recovered. -PTC News
