Rajpura reports 18 new cases; Patiala Police books 2 corona positive persons for violating curfew orders

As many as 18 new positive cases were reported from Rajpura taking the Patiala district tally to 49. The Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra confirmed that 18 new cases were tested positive in Rajpura. Dr. Malhotra further said that the persons who have tested positive have been shifted to the isolation ward of the Government Rajindra Hospital.

He stated that the screening of residents in Rajpura has been completed 60 percent while in Patiala city the work is complete by 99 percent.

Punjab Chief Secretary KBS Sidhu took to Twitter and wrote: “Patiala: 18 new positive cases, all related to the original Rajpura case. Total samples (RT-PCR) taken in Rajpura :70; Positive :18; Negative :52. No cause for concern; area very securely contained.”

Police books two corona positive persons for irresponsible acts in Patiala

Patiala Police on Thursday booked two coronavirus positive patients for violating the orders issued by the administration during the coronavirus epidemic. They have been identified as Krishan Kumar Gaba and Krishan Kumar Bansal.

SSP Patiala Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that a letter was received from the Civil Surgeon Patiala with a copy to DC Patiala. They have been accused of violating the directions and orders issued by the administration and keep on doing their businesses.

It has been learned that they had travelled many places in Patiala and even outside. Reportedly, they diagnosed with COVID-19 and because of their irresponsible actions, many others came in the grip of this epidemic.
