Coronavirus: SGPC launches its 5th COVID care centre in Sangrur

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Friday took an initiative to facilitate the treatment of COVID-19 patients and has also set up a 25-bed COVID Care Centre at Gurdwara Shri Nankiana Sahib, Sangrur. Doctors and nursing staff of Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical College and Hospital, Sri Amritsar, will treat people affected by a coronavirus in this medical center set up at Bebe Nanaki Niwas of Gurdwara Sri Nankiana Sahib. The ward set up by the SGPC has been provided oxygen through concentrators while medicines would also be provided to the patients free of cost. This is the fifth Covid Care Centre opened by the Shiromani Committee. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, and former SGPC President Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal among others were present during the inauguration of COVID Care Centre at Sangrur. Speaking on the occasion, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the coronavirus pandemic all over the world has taken a terrible turn, which has created an atmosphere of fear. "People get more frustrated when they don't get places in hospitals for treatment," she said. COVID-19: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) set up a 25-bed COVID Care Centre at Gurdwara Shri Nankiana Sahib, Sangrur. Therefore, the SGPC has decided to set up a Covid Care Centre said Bibi Jagir Kaur, adding that more than 500 patients have recovered so far from these Centres.
