British PM Boris Johnson admitted to hospital 10 days after testing positive for coronavirus
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests on Sunday, as a precautionary step after showing persistent symptoms of coronavirus, ten days after testing positive for the pandemic.
Downing Street stated that the Prime Minister has been admitted to the hospital for tests on the advice of his doctor. It added that "This is a precautionary step, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson continued to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the pandemic."
Boris Johnson, 55, became the first leader of a major power to announce that he had tested positive for coronavirus on March 27. He decided to go into isolation at a flat in Downing Street. He had said on Friday that he was staying there as he still had a high temperature.
British PM continued to have a high temperature. Also, Downing Street mentioned that this was not an emergency admission. The prime minister's doctors considered it as sensible for Johnson to be seen in person. Meanwhile, Drowning Street also stated that Boris Johnson remains in charge of the government.

Downing Street added that the prime minister thanked NHS staff for all of their hard work and urged the public to continue to follow the government's advice to stay at home. Meanwhile, Carrie Symonds, Johnson's 32-year-old pregnant fiancée, stated that she had spent the past week in bed with symptoms of the coronavirus but after seven days of rest, she felt stronger and was on the mend.
