Coronavirus India Update: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 74,32,681 after 62,212 new COVID-19 cases and 837 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Saturday morning.

Of 74,32,681 coronavirus cases in India, 7,95,087 are active cases, 65,24,596 have been cured and discharged while 1,12,998 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to October 16 is 9,32,54,017 while 9,99,090 samples were tested on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry stated that “India scales an unprecedented peak. ACTIVE CASES drop below the 8 lakh-mark for the first time in 1.5 months.”

“This significant achievement is the outcome of Centre-led targetted strategies leading to a high number of RECOVERIES and steadily falling number of FATALITIES,” it added while giving the latest coronavirus India update.
