Coronavirus Update: India scales an unprecedented peak as active cases drop below 8 lakh-mark
Coronavirus India Update: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 74,32,681 after 62,212 new COVID-19 cases and 837 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Saturday morning.
Of 74,32,681 coronavirus cases in India, 7,95,087 are active cases, 65,24,596 have been cured and discharged while 1,12,998 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to October 16 is 9,32,54,017 while 9,99,090 samples were tested on Friday.

Also, the Union Home Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Friday appealed to the people to be more alert ahead of the upcoming festivals. He appealed to people of all religions to follow the guidelines issued by the government of India during this period.
