70-year-old man defeats coronavirus, gets $1.1 million bill from hospital

A US-based 70-year-old man who defeated coronavirus has been handed over a huge bill of $1.1 million for his hospital expenses, the Seattle Times reported on Saturday. The patient has been identified as Michael Flor. He is known as the longest-hospitalised coronavirus patient. He nearly died of COVID-19 and now known as a million-dollar baby. As per the report, Flor was admitted on March 4, and stayed at a hospital for 62 days. In fact, his condition was so worse that a night-shift nurse held a phone to his ear while his wife and children bid him goodbye. But Michael Flor survived. After his unexpected recovery, he is called to be a miracle. He was discharged after which he received a 181-page bill of amount $1,122,501.04, he told the newspaper. The bill includes $9,736 per day for intensive care room, $409,000 for its transformation into a sterile room for 42 days, $82,000 for the use of a ventilator for 29 days, and around $100,000 for 2 days when he was the stage of life-threatening. The Seattle Times quoted Flor as saying: "It was a million bucks to save my life, and of course I'd say that's money well-spent. But I also know I might be the only one saying that." -PTC News
