Indian badminton shuttler PV Sindhu emphasized the 'Safe Hands Challenge' initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak. PV Sindhu has opted to take up the Safe Hands Challenge so that the importance of washing hands amid coronavirus outbreak can be highlighted. Sindhu, 2019 BWF World Championships winner, can be seen washing her hands in a video shared online. Sidhu took to Twitter and wrote: "Thank you Ms Katherine Hadda for the challenge. Definitely we all can help slow the spread of COVID 2019. I now challenge Kiren Rijiju, Virat Kohli and Sania Mirza. Kiren Rijiju accepted the challenge

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter and shared a video washing hand thoroughly. He captioned: I accept your challenge PV Sindhu, Hima Das.
