Coronavirus: With 4,539 new cases, Punjab sees major decline in daily COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus Punjab Updates: The daily new cases of coronavirus in Punjab have fallen below 5,000 as the state on Monday recorded 4,539 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 5,43,475.

Ludhiana recorded just 507 new cases while Mansa recorded 401, Amritsar 340, Jalandhar 334, Muktsar 310, Bathinda 308, Pathankot 284, Fazilka 265, Patiala 251, Ferozepur 241, and Hoshiarpur 226.

On the other hand, Mohali, once the worst-affected district, recorded 218 new cases while Gurdaspur reported 177, Sangrur 153, Ropar 96, Faridkot 78, Kapurthala 78, Moga 60, Barnala 59, FG Sahib 59, SBS Nagar 47, and Tarn Taran 47.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries in the state has increased to 4,75,011 after the state added 6,803 new recoveries in 24 hours, the Health Department stated while giving coronavirus updates about Punjab.

Amritsar recorded 398 recoveries while Barnala reported 69, Bathinda 770, Faridkot 163, Fazilka 409, Ferozpur 240, FG Sahib 92, Gurdaspur 109, Hoshiarpur 204, Jalandhar 513, Kapurthala 127, Ludhiana 1305, Mansa 206, Moga 56, Muktsar 400, Pathankot 276, Patiala 353, Ropar 128, Sangrur 175, SAS Nagar 686, SBS Nagar 64, Tarn Taran 60.

The death toll in Punjab due to COVID-19 has increased to 13,468 after 178 fresh deaths were recorded in 24 hours.

Among new deaths, Amritsar reported 13 new deaths while Barnala reported 6, Bathinda 14, Faridkot 3, FG Sahib 4, Fazilka 6, Ferozpur 9, Gurdaspur 6, Hoshiarpur 8, Jalandhar 8, Kapurthala 6, Ludhiana 15, Mansa 8, SAS Nagar 7, Muktsar 11, Pathankot 6, Patiala 17, Ropar 4, Sangrur 16, SBS Nagar 3, and Tarn Taran 8.
