Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a mammoth rally at Kevadia in Gujarat on his 69th birthday, which fell on Tuesday. PM Modi arrived in Gujarat on Monday night to celebrate his birthday in his home state, from where he began his political journey. “In our culture, it is believed that development can be done while protecting the environment and it is evident here. Nature is dear to us, it is our jewel”, PM Modi said.

Recalling Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during his rally, PM Modi said, “The country is witnessing the fulfillment of Sardar Patel’s dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. India is trying to complete works left incomplete after Independence. People of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh faced discrimination for 70 years and the country had to bear the consequences in the form of separatism and violence.”
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Prime Minister reviewed programmes and projects, including the Statue of Unity and Sardar Sarovar Dam on the banks of the Narmada River. PM Modi also met his mother, Heeraben in Gandhinagar early this morning. Later, he visited Sardar Sarovar Dam, which is the largest dam in India and second largest in the world.
Last year, PM Narendra Modi celebrated his 68th birthday in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi with the children of a primary school. He also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple.
