COVID-19 infection from mother to baby low: Study

Amid the second wave of coronavirus, people are at an even high risk of getting infected with the deadly virus. Meanwhile, a new study suggested that a pregnant woman, infected with COVID-19, are at a high risk of developing complication for both mother and baby. As per the study published by JAMA Pediatrics, pregnant ladies are at high risk for developing complications during their pregnancy like preeclampsia, eclampsia, and maternal deaths. It also stated that babies born to mothers who have coronavirus were not found to be positive after birth.   • Pregnant ladies must follow the medication given by their gynecologist.
  • They should contact their gynecologist via phone.
  • Pregnant women should go under quarantine just like others to prevent the spread.
  • Wash and sanitise hands frequently.
  • Use face masks, and following other measures.
