COVID-19 vaccine stolen in Jind: Thieves steal 1,710 vaccine doses from Jind hospital

COVID-19 vaccine stolen in Jind: While several states have been facing an accused shortage of Covid-19 vaccines, thieves stole around 1,710 doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines from Jind's PP Center General Hospital storeroom in Haryana. Meanwhile, Haryana's Jind has no vaccines left at the moment. Among 1710 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, 1270 are of Covishield and 440 of Covaxin. Besides the COVID-19 vaccines, files have been stolen from the PPC center at Civil Hospital in Jind too. The Centre's in charge said that "I'll also check our main store that keeps supply for the entire district. I'll also inform officials." However, other medicines and cash in the storeroom were untouched while the accused swept only corona vaccines. The thieves opened four locks of the storeroom and the deep freezer. The official said that no vaccine is left for inoculation in the district. A medical officer said that the health officials have been informed the police about the incident. It has been reported that several other vaccines were also kept there in the store which was not taken away by the thieves. It has also been learned that several other valuable things like a laptop and Rs 50,000 cash besides other things were there in the storeroom.
