India's COVID-19 case tally has crossed 55 lakh-mark with a spike of 75,083 new coronavirus cases and 1,053 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday morning. The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 55, 62,664 out of which 9,75,861 are active cases, 44,97,868 have been cured and discharged while 88,935 COVID patients in India have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 6,53,25,779 samples have been tested up to September 21 for COVID-19 out of which 9,33,185 samples were tested on Monday. It added that "More than 90,000 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from home/facility isolation and hospitals every single day."   Coronavirus Vaccine IN india The Ministry also stated that "This high rate of daily recoveries has positioned India as the top country globally with a maximum number of recovered cases." This has also pushed the recovery rate to a high of more than 80 percent, the Ministry of Health stated.
