Covid strain in India: After a new mutant coronavirus strain was found in the UK, several countries suspended the flight operations with the country to contain the spread of the mutant strain. However, the Covid strain managed to enter India, and thus, the numbers are rising day by day.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health stated that the total number of persons infected with the new mutant coronavirus strain in India stands at 38. It is pertinent to mention that the Central government has decided to resume the flights from and to the UK. Therefore, the Union Health Ministry issued the standard operating procedure (SOP) regarding the same.

As per the guidelines, all the passengers coming to/from the UK between January 8 and January 30 would be subjected to the self-paid coronavirus tests on arrival. The Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that “Flights from India to the UK to restart from Jan 6 while flight operations from the UK to India will resume on Jan 8. 30 flights will operate every week — 15 each by Indian and UK carriers. Coronavirus in India With a sustained, pro-active, and calibrated approach, the daily new cases in India are on a sustained decline. 16,504 new cases were added to the national tally in the last 24 hours. The decline in daily cases has ensured a consistent fall in the Active Caseload. India’s active caseload has fallen to 2,43,953 on Monday. The share of Active Cases in the total Positive Cases has further compressed to merely 2.36 percent of the cumulative caseload. -PTC News-
