Crime Branch issues notice to farmer leaders; asks them to appear before it

While farmers have called for chakka jam in India on February 6, the Crime Branch has issued notice to farmer leaders asking them to appear before it on Saturday. According to the information, over 40 farmer leaders have been asked to appear before Crime Branch. The notices have been handed over to the farmers while no decision has been taken by the farm bodies on whether they will appear before it or not. During the last meeting, the Central government proposed to suspend the farm laws 2020 for 1-2 years while farmers refused to it. Thus, the government asked farmers to reconsider the proposal. Since then, there has been no update on the next round of meeting as the Centre has thrown the ball in the farmers' court.
