Rahul Gandhi to be elevated as Congress president on Dec 5 or Dec 19
Followimng approval of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the Central Election Authority of the Congress on Monday released the schedule of the election of the Congress president.
The polling will be held on December 16 in case there is no unanimous choice of the president emerged. The copy of the schedule is posted below:
The CWC met at Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's 10, Janpath residence to finalise the schedule for the election to the party's top post.
Party leaders say though it was not necessary to convene a formal meeting of the CWC to approve the schedule of the presidential election, Sonia Gandhi decided to get the approval of the party's highest decision-making body.
