Punjab Member of Parliament Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra on Monday in parliament demanded that 1984 anti-Sikh riots should be declared as a genocide
Soon after the Delhi High Court convicted congress leader Sajjan Kumar in a case related with anti-Sikh 1984 riots, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra raised the issue of anti 1984 sikh riots in the parliament during zero hour.

Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra also alleged that the Indian National Congress (INC) has been saving the prime suspects in 1984 anti Sikh riots.

At least 3,000 Sikhs were killed in the riots, which broke out after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
