Padmavati lead actress, Deepika Padukone visited the Padmavathi temple to sought blessings of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi in Tirupati ahead of her film’s release in December.
“Visiting the temple was a surreal experience for Deepika,” sources said, adding that Deepika took time off from promotions to make it to Tirupati.
Goddess Padmavathi is the wife of Lord Venkateswara and is also known as an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Deepika was also spotted at the Tirumala Temple recently.
Padmavati has invited the ire of several quarters ever since it was announced as Rajput groups claimed that Bhansali was distorting facts in the film. The director, however, clarified in a video that no dream sequence has been filmed between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, in the film.
Padmavati also co-stars Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and is scheduled to release on December 1. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is busy updating Instagram and other social media sites with his images as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
