Delhi: 13-km-long elevated corridor to decongest Ring Road. The Delhi government has approved a plan to construct a 13-km elevated road along the Yamuna River. The corridor would be built between Signature Bridge near North's Wazirabad and Kalindi Kunj bypass in the south. Ring Road and Outer Ring Road which are normally choked with traffic will see less of traffic and smooth movement due to corridors. The plan by the Public Works Department to construct the corridor has been approved by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Delhi: 13-km-long elevated corridor to decongest Ring Road The elevated corridor would be constructed from Signature Bridge till Salimgarh Bypass (Ring Road bypass) where it will merge, as a part of the first phase. In the second phase, the elevated road would be extended to the Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) Flyway and Kalindi Kunj bypass. Eight bridges over the Yamuna, including the Signature bridge, Old Iron bridge, Geeta Colony, Vikas Marg, Nizammudin bridge, Barapullah Phase-III, DND flyway and Kalindi bypass, will be connected to the elevated corridor. The project is estimated to cost Rs 2,200 crore and is looking at implementing it on a public-private partnership model. -PTC News-
