Delhi: Fresh clashes broke out between pro and anti-CAA groups in Maujpur

Delhi CAA protests in Maujpur: A day after clashes between anti and pro-CAA groups, a fresh stone-pelting incident broke out in Delhi's Maujpur area for the second consecutive day on Monday. The protestors hurled stones at each other after which the police started firing tear gas shells to disperse the agitators. Earlier on Sunday, two people got injured in the clashes between the pro and anti-CAA groups. The clashes had broken out near Jaffrabad in northeast Delhi after a huge number of anti-CAA protesters, mostly women, blocked a road near Jaffrabad metro station that connects Seelampur and Maujpur and Yamuna Vihar. Also, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) closed the entry and exit at Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur stations amid tension in the area. DMRC took to twitter and wrote: "The entry and exit of Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations." Meanwhile, the heavy police deployment was seen in the area following the clashes. Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range), Alok Kumar said that the situation is under control, while many people are on the street. https://www.ptcnews.tv/namastey-trump-donald-trump-india-visit-melania-trump-ahmedabad-en/ He added that the policemen are continuously speaking to the local leaders so that the peace prevails in the area. Alok Kumar also said that heavy security has been deployed at Jaffrabad and the situation is peaceful. On Sunday, the police fired tear gas shells following the clash that broke out in Maujpur after a gathering called by BJP leader Kapil Mishra demanding police to remove anti-CAA protestors within three days. -PTC News
