DSGMC Elections 2021 postponed amid Covid surge and ongoing curfew in Delhi
DSGMC Elections 2021: Amid growing concerns over the rising coronavirus cases, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) elections 2021 have been postponed after LG Anil Baijal accepted the proposal of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Earlier, the Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had informed about the the postponement of DSGMC Elections 2021.

He had said that "Gurudwara elections in Delhi, to be held on 25 Apr, have been postponed due to corona and ongoing curfew. Hon’ble CM sends the proposal to Hon’ble LG."
It is pertinent to mention that the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) elections were scheduled to be held on April 25.
The counting of votes was scheduled to be held on April 28.

It is pertinent to mention that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a six-day lockdown in the national capital. He said that the move was necessary as rising cases of coronavirus in Delhi had severely strained the city's resources while the health system was at a tipping point.
Delhi is the worst-hit city in India after Mumbai. Kejriwal said that Delhi's health system was at a breaking point. However, he did not say that it has collapsed but the Covid situation was pretty critical.
Also, Delhi has been facing shortages of hospital beds, medical oxygen supplies and key medicines such as the anti-viral Remdesivir.
