Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the borders of the national capital have been sealed for the next one week. Only essential services will be allowed amid the hike in coronavirus cases in Delhi, he said.
Meanwhile, the barbershops and salons will be opened but the spas will remain closed, he announced. We were following odd-even rule for shops in markets but the central government has not stated any such rule, so all shops can open now, he said.
“We are sealing Delhi borders for one week, only essential services will be allowed,” he said. Arvind Kejriwal also said that “In autos, e-rickshaws and other vehicles, as per earlier orders, the number of passengers was fixed. But now we are lifting the restrictions on the number of passengers travelling in auto, e-rickshaws and other vehicles.”
The announcement comes days after the Central Government issued guidelines for lockdown 5/ Unlock 1. The Ministry of Home Affairs, in its guidelines, allowed the movement of intra-state and inter-state movements. a
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has increased to 1,90,535 after 8,392 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday morning. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the death toll has increased to 5,394 after 230 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
