Delhi High Court Restrains Sale Of Book On Baba Ramdev The Delhi High Court on Saturday restrained the publication and sale of a book on yoga guru Ramdev. It says that certain portions of the book, 'Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev' were defamatory to him. Justice Anu Malhotra’s judgement said Ramdev is entitled to his right to social reputation and dignity as an ordinary citizen even if he is a public figure. According to Justice Anu Malhotra, "...Portions of the book which make readers think that he is an ambitious villain, until so proved in the court of law, are necessarily to be restrained from being published and distributed for sale till disposal of the suit ...pending before the civil judge, Karkardooma Courts Delhi." Earlier, Ramdev had filed a petition in the Delhi Court after the local court has lifted the ban on the book. The book is written by Priyanka Pathak-Narain and published by M/s Juggernaut Books. The author of the book claims that the book provides an in-depth knowledge of how Patanjali Group ‘actually’ works. The book talks about his business interests - Patanjali Group. It also talks about the death and disappearances of all those people who were closely related with Ramdev.  The disappearance of Swami Shankar Dev Ji and the murder of the Swami Yogananda were some of the major incidents mentioned in the book. Also Read: Baba Ramdev wants to sell petrol, diesel for Rs 35-40 per litre The Delhi High court ordered the deletion of sections depicting the disappearance of Swami Shankar Dev Ji and the murder of the Swami Yogananda. The court added that there was not a single evidence to support Ramdev’s connection in these two major incidents. The book was first published on July 29, 2017. After 6 days of its publication, the Delhi Civil Court put a restraining order on its publishing and distribution. Later, another court lifted the ban in April, following which Ramdev moved Delhi High Court. -PTC NEWS
