40-year-old man arrested for raping 8-year-old girl in Delhi
In a major incident, a 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in the Sadar Bazaar area of North Delhi. The accused has been identified as Sudama who is a resident in the Nabi Karim area. The accused worked as a cart puller in Sadar Bazaar, the police said.
According to the information, an 8-year-old girl was sleeping with her grandmother outside their house. The accused took her to a nearby place and raped her. The incident came to light when the girl's grandmother woke up and did not find the child.
Meanwhile, she raised an alarm. The girl returned to the house but started bleeding the next morning. Then, the family rushed to a hospital and informed the police about the incident.
The victim could only speak Marathi which is why police took help from a woman who spoke the language to interact with the girl. Then, the victim told everything about the incident managed to describe the accused.

Likewise, the police arrested the accused. The police also said that the accused was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime. A case has been registered against him under the IPC section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping), 376 (Punishment for rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
