A 14-year-old boy died on Sunday morning after his motorcycle rammed into another vehicle near Azad Nagar metro station. The deceased, Divya Sharma, allegedly took his father’s brand new motorcycle when his family was asleep.

The family members told police that they were not aware that Divya knew how to ride a bike. The accident took place 2 km from his house in Bihari Colony near Krishna Nagar. Around 7:30 am the passerby found the injured boy and bike on the road. The passerby immediately informed the police. The boy was not wearing any helmet.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The doctors told the media sources that the boy died due to severe head injury and blood loss. The people living close to the accident site were not able to identify the boy. The police then gathered the information about the vehicle and contacted Divya’s family members.

Divya’s family members were still sleeping at the time when police contacted them. Police informed the family about an accident involving a boy. The family told the police that their son and their bike were missing.

The boy was a class 8 student in a private school in Vivek Vihar. His father, Amit Sharma, is employed with a private cosmetic company as a marketing adviser.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Krishna Nagar police station. Police has started investigating the matter. CCTV footage has been recovered around the accident spot.
