Union Minister of environment, forest and climate change and minister of information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, on Monday, announced that BS VI-compliant vehicles will be coming to Delhi by April 2020, which will help reduce air pollution. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1181098222787317761 “Since 2006, air quality in Delhi has been deteriorating rapidly. But till 2014, neither was it talked about nor was much work done to improve it. In 2015, PM started 113 AQI monitoring stations in Delhi/NCR and 29 are more to be installed soon,” he said. The minister blamed vehicular pollution for Delhi’s poor air quality and said, “BS6-compliant vehicles will be coming in Delhi on April 2020. BS6 petrol/diesel is already available in Delhi/NCR. It will lead to a great reduction in air pollution from vehicles.” Also Read: New York: PM Narendra Modi addresses UN Climate Action Summit 2019 With Diwali drawing close, he advised people against bursting firecrackers. “I will advise against bursting firecrackers and I am confident that children themselves will ask parents not to buy firecrackers.
