Delhi witnesses major decline in new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

Coronavirus Delhi: Complete lockdown in Delhi seems to be working as the national capital has been witnessing a major decline in new coronavirus cases. Delhi on Monday reported 4524 new coronavirus cases, 10,918 recoveries, and 340 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in Delhi has increased to 13,98,391 while the total recoveries have reached 13,20,496. The death toll in the national capital due to COVID-19 has increased to 21,846 while active cases stand at 56,049. Delhi on Monday started its fifth phase of a complete lockdown which was announced last month to contain the spread of coronavirus. The announcement of the lockdown extension was made by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday during his visit to Covid-19 health facility established outside the government-run Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in the city. Coronavirus Delhi: Complete lockdown in Delhi seems to be working as national capital has been witnessing major decline in coronavirus cases. “The lockdown is being extended till 5 am next Monday,” Kejriwal said while interacting with the media persons. The complete shutdown was initially announced on April 19 and came into effect at 10 pm on the same night.
