Diesel rates hiked today, price near Rs 82 per litre in the national capital

Delhi: The price of diesel has further extended over petrol in the national capital on Sunday after Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased its price. The price of diesel was hiked yet again on Sunday (July 25) in major cities across the country. This is for the 10th time when OMCs have hiked the price of diesel this month. While the petrol rates remained unchanged for around 3 weeks, the diesel price has been hiked ten times in July so far. On Saturday, the price of diesel was increased by 15 while on Monday it raised by 12 paise, 7 days ago 17 paise, 8 days ago 17 paise and 10 days ago 13 paise. Presently, the diesel price in the national capital has increased to Rs 81.94 per litre. As per the report, the Diesel price has increased by Rs 1.55 per litre this month. It is pertinent to mention that retail prices of petrol and diesel in the country vary from state to state due to the value-added tax (VAT). Also Read | Coronavirus: Punjab government issues revised guidelines for home isolation In Delhi, the petrol price today was at Rs 80.43 per litre while diesel became 15 paise costlier and was priced at Rs 81.94 per litre. Likewise in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, petrol was at an unchanged price of Rs 87.19, Rs 83.63, Rs 82.10 per litre respectively, while the price of diesel in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata were retailing at Rs 80.11, Rs 78.86 and Rs 77.04 respectively. -PTC News
