Dilli Chalo: Farm bodies seek PM intervention for safe passage to Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed all-party meeting called by him to discuss coronavirus situation in India, COVID-19 vaccine.

Farmers protest: Amid ‘Dilli Chalo’ agitation, Samyukta Kisan Morcha and All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordinating Committee have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to provide Punjab farmers security and passage to enter Delhi.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordinating Committee also asked PM Narendra Modi for the allotment of Ramlila Maidan in Delhi for agitating Punjab farmers.

Meanwhile, it has accused the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments of torturing farmers. Thousands of farmers have reached Delhi.

It also informed the Prime Minister that a huge number of farmers would reach Delhi in a few hours. Therefore, the AIKKCC has advised the PM to engage in dialogue instead of creating a confrontation with the farmers.

Meanwhile, Punjab farmers have reached the Delhi border where farmers have been stopped near the Singhu border in Delhi.

The farmers crossed all the barriers and reached Delhi’s the Singhu border, where Delhi Police resorted to tear gas shells to disperse the farmers from entering Delhi.
