According to the media reports, a Sikh man was dressed in ‘Nihang Bana.’ He very cleverly passed the security to gain entry in the shrine for ‘Ishnaan Sewa.’ Other devotees sensed his condition and immediately informed the ‘sewadars’ present there. They took him to an isolated place and later handed him over to the Galliara police. Even though he was drunk, but he behaved properly inside the Gurudwara complex. The police later released him after thorough questioning.

The police also recovered some cash and a car from him. Meanwhile, Sri Harmandir Sahib’s manager, Jaswinder Singh Deenpur, directed the entire staff on duty to submit the report of the whole incident in writing.
The SGPC Chief Secretary, Dr Roop Singh, said, “We have called up a meeting of managers tomorrow. It was lapse on the part of the staff on duty that a person under the influence of inebriate had entered the complex.”
