Dubai: Indian woman died in a car crash
An Indian woman died while her husband sustained serious injuries in a horrible car crash on Friday in Dubai. The car in which they were travelling rammed into a truck.
According to media reports, the Reeja Varghese (52) and her husband Varghese Koshi (57) were on their way to attend service at St Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church’s Dubai cathedral when this accident took place.
Varghese Koshy was driving the car. He lost control and rammed into a truck. Police reached the spot. It used hydraulic cutters to extricate them from the mangled remains of the vehicle. His wife died on the spot while Varghese Koshy is struggling for his life at Rashid Hospital in Dubai. The wife’s body was sent to the forensic medicine department.
The body will be handed over after legal and administrative procedures are completed. The couple was a resident of Dubai Investment Park. The family originally hails from the southern Indian state of Kerala. They shifted Dubai 18 years ago.
Reeja Varghese was a member of Kadesha Orthodox Church, Kayamkulam, in Alleppey district of Kerala. She was a choir member and a university-level badminton player in her younger days.
The couple has a daughter (23) in Dubai and a son (21). He is currently pursuing his higher studies abroad.
