Earthquake of magnitude 6.5 rocks Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula
An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 rocked Russia Kamchatka Peninsula on Thursday. Tremors were felt in entire Russia’s Kamchatka Region. The strongest earthquake tremor of magnitude 6 was felt in Ust- Kamchatka. The area has a population of around 4,000 people.

The earthquake struck around 9:21 am local time. A magnitude of 6.5 was recorded. Residents of Ust-Kamchatsk felt the tremors at 6 magnitude.

Residents of Klyuchi and Kozyrevsk also felt tremors of 3 magnitude. Magnitude 2 tremors were also felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The epicentre of the earthquake lay at the south of Ust-Kamchatsk in 78 and 36 kilometres from the coastline.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry told the media sources that no injuries or damages have been reported so far.
