The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday recorded the statement of Punjabi singer, actor and director Gippy Grewal in an alleged overseas transactions case. According to the information, ED questioned Gippy Grewal for more than six hours. Earlier in 2014, Gippy appeared before the ED and said that he has submitted papers and other details sought by the ED.
Meanwhile, sources close to Enforcement Directorate stated that they had sought more details, while investigation is on in the matter. Besides Gippy Grewal, Jazzy B, Diljit Dosanjh, and Miss Pooja, have also appeared before the ED over alleged overseas transactions.
The probe is been done under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) to find out whether the companies owned by them violate Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines while making these transactions.
The ED officials said that the probe started after the IT raids on the premises of three Dosanjh in Ludhiana, Gippy in Mohali and Miss Pooja at Rajpura in Patiala district. Also, offices of two Punjabi film-producing firms in 2012 were raided too.
Gippy Grewal has recently blessed with third son with wife Ravneet Kaur. He was last seen in the film Daaka, whose song Khatarnaak along with Bohemia was released recently.
