Elderly NRI couple killed after being hit by train in Haryana
In a tragic incident, an elderly NRI couple died after being hit by a train near the Ambala City railway station, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Sohan Lal (84) and Seeta (80), police said.
The couple had come to India to attend a wedding of their relative on March 24, and were scheduled to fly back to New Zealand where they stayed with their son.
Railway police officials said when the couple were crossing the railway crossing near the Ambala City railway station in the afternoon they were hit by the train, police said.
The couple were hit as they failed to notice the approaching train and died on the spot, they said.
The relatives of the deceased couple were informed, police said.
