Election Commission Notification for phase one of LS polls, released
The Election Commission of India today issued notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls to be held on April 11. According to the notification, 91 parliamentary constituencies spread over 20 stated and UT will go in phase 1. The last date of filing of nominations is March 25. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on March 26. The last date for withdrawal of the nomination papers is March 28.

The notification further reads, the constituencies going for polls in the first phase are 5 in Uttarakhand, 4 in Bihar, 4 in Odisha, 2 in Jammu & Kashmir, 2 in Arunachal Pradesh, 7 in Maharashtra, 1 each in Chhatisgarh, Mizoram Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

In Jammu and Kashmir, with the issuance of notification for Jammu -Poonch Lok Sabha constituency, the election process started in the state. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
