Avengers Endgame director Joe Russo is against Hollywood’s obsession with the concept of the multiverse, warns that it could result in repetition in comic book films.
Recently released Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home opened doors to the multiverse. With Doctor Strange 2, coming up, more stories around the concept of multiple universes can be expected due to which Joe Russo raised worries and expressed his concerns over the multiverse trend going on in the movies nowadays.

Joe raised concern and stated that though the repetition of the same concept of comic books in movies is at the rage in the Hollywood industry the concept is restricting directors to creating and bringing new and innovative fresh ideas for the movies.
At the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (DICE) summit, Joe Russo gave a speech. There, the director of Avengers: Endgame questioned the concept of repeating trends, notably the multiverse, which permeates the Marvel Cinematic Universe and others.
“The corporate agenda is: Do you like chocolate ice cream? Well here’s chocolate ice cream with sprinkles, here’s chocolate ice cream with fudge…It’s their job to turn the money printer on,” explained Russo.
Since the end of Phase 3, when Mysterio reassured Peter Park of its validity in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel Studios has made fun of the presence of the Multiverse. The expansive concept has already been used in two live-action projects and the animated series.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will be back with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6 in theatres.
