June, 2015: SAD leader Mukhjit Singh Mukha was shot dead by a police team near Mudhal village. February, 2016: After the Police did not booked the cops involved under murder charges, victim family moved court seeking murder charges. July, 2016: Police constituted special investigation team (SIT) and eight cops were booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder (section 304 of IPC). August, 2017: The Amritsar court summoned nine cops as accused of murder of Mukha. October, 2017: These nine accused got interim bail from the local court.
