Fake Indian currency notes recovered from Samjauta Express; two held
Customs officials on Friday recovered fake currency with the face value of Rs 6,500 from a coach of the Samjhauta Express train that came from Pakistan. The police arrested two persons in this concern. The fake currency notes were in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes.

Both the arrested persons belonged to Uttar Pradesh and Muzaffarnagar. The investigations are underway. The bi-weekly Samjhauta Express peace train between India and Pakistan links Lahore city in Pakistan with Attari town in Amritsar.

In the recent past, there have been some incidents where Samjhauta Express has been used to smuggle drugs, weapons and fake currency.
