Farmers start ‘jail bharo’ movement in Punjab; 51 Farmers to court arrest daily
Many farmers, labourers and women under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) on Friday started ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ in five cities of Punjab. Farmers have started the movement in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ferozepur and Tarn Taran. Also, the farmers at each of the five centres will court arrest.

Farmers have started the movement so that their demands are fulfilled. Their demands include complete debt waiver, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report, the return of blank cheques taken by banks, stopping the auction of land and payment of sugarcane arrears with 15% interest.
