FIFA World Cup 2018: Belgium stuns Tunisia 5-2, moves to round of 16

Belgium moved into the round of 16 after scoring a convincing 5-2 win over Tunisia in the FIFA World Cup 2018 on Saturday. With two flattering wins - 3-0 against Panama and 5-2 against Tunisia - Belgium have matched the hosts, Russia, in scoring big wins and making sure of their berth in the round of 16. FIFA World Cup 2018: Belgium stuns Tunisia 5-2, moves to round of 16 Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku scored two goals each. Romelu who had scored two goals against Panama as well was substituted like the first game before he could attempt and complete a hat trick. He remains one of top scorers of the tournament so far having same number of goals as Ronaldo of Portugal has done. Ronaldo has the first hat trick of the tournament under his belt as well. After "own goals" occupying the top spot among goal scorers with five goals, Ronaldo and Lukaku are next with four goals each. FIFA World Cup 2018: Belgium stuns Tunisia 5-2, moves to round of 16 It all started when Eden Hazard was brought down in the box and converted the penalty in the fifth minute after the Africans’ defence was caught scrambling. There was no controversy it was a clear foul, but that’s the 13th penalty in the 27 games played in the tournament so far — the same number that was awarded in the full 64 games in 2014. Romelu Lukaku doubled the tally for Belgium in the 16th minute with a well taken left-footed chance. The game turned out to the highest scoring match of the World Cup 2018 so far. Trailing 0-2, Tunisia pulled it back two minutes later as Dylan Bronn headed home a swinging free kick. Lukaku made no mistake with his first touch and then chipped delightfully over the keeper to make it 3-1 at halftime. The second half saw Eden Hazard scoring his second goal in the 51st minute. And the last minute of the stipulated time period saw both Belgiumg and Tunisia scoring to the great delight of spectators. First, it was Micky Bathshuayi who was unlucky not to have a goal to his credit in spite of several good moves and chances he had.His efforts were ultimately rewarded in the last minute when he got his name written on the scorers list. Before the game could come to an end Wehbi Khazi came up with a brilliant goal to console the Tunisians and make the score look little respectful at 2-5. His goal, however, could not prevent Tunisia from facing elimination.
