FIFA World Cup 2018: India makes debut

India made its formal debut in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Sochi on Wednesday. Though India's ranking is very low yet it made its presence felt in the ongoing mega soccer event. Before the start of the Group G match between Belgium and debutants Panama, 10-year-old Rishi Tej, a Class V student of Royale Concorde School in Bengaluru, marched into the stadium ahead of the teams carrying the official ball for the game. Rishi Tej ths becomes first Indian ball carrier of the FIFA World Cup 2018. Other ball carrier chosen from India is 11-year-old Tamilian girl John Kandathil Nathania. She will bring the official ball to the ground ahead of Brazial and Costa Rica teams on June 22. Both Rishi Tej and John Kundathil Nathania will also watch the games for which they carry the official ball.
