India completed its pool engagements in the FIH Series Finals at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday defeating Uzbekistan 10-0 for its third consecutive win from as many matches. After taking a comfortable 7-0 lead in the first half, India could add only three goals in the second half. Gursahibjit Singh got his first goal of the game and second of the tournament when he scored in the 45th minute. Then it was Akashdeep Singh who found the target in the 53rd minute.Finally it was Mandeep Singh, who after being checked by goalkeeper succeeded in putting the ball home to make it 10-0, the same margin with which the host had beaten Russia in the first game.

India started the first half with four of seven goals coming from penalty corners, three of them coming from direct flicks while the fourth saw Nilakanta Sharma slamming back the rebound of Amit Rohidas. It was Varun Kumar who set the scoring in motion for the home team with a penalty corner conversion in the 4th minute followed by a brilliant field goal by Akashdeep Singh in the 11th minute. Before the teams broke for the end of first quarter, Amit Rohidas made it 3-0 with a penalty corner conversion. In the second quarter, Varun Kumar put to full use yet another penalty corner in the 22nd minute before Akashdeep Singh chipped in with a superb reverse flick in the 26th minute. Then it was Nilakanta Sharma who score from a rebound in the 27th minute and finally Mandeep Singh just deflected the ball home off a centre from Ramandeep Singh.
