First Sikh Elected to International College of Surgeons Dr Ujagar Singh Dhaliwal is the first turban Sikh and first Indian to be elected as secretary General Asia Federation of International College of Surgeons. Mr Singh is the director of Dhaliwal Hospital, Amritsar and Ex. Director of Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College, Amritsar. He was elected in its world conference held at Kaohsiung in Taiwan from 2nd to 7th November 2018. The International College of surgeons is the biggest institution that has all the specialities in the world. The headquarters is situated in Chicago. It is the only institution associated with the World Health Organization. It has seven federations in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. First Indian Dr Ujagar Singh Dhaliwal was the president of its Indian federation and now, will after overall Asian federation countries in terms of surgical art and teaching.
